Arte-Facto is the name Colombian artist, designer and educator Andrea Romero gives to her hand-made fashion accessories. After completing her Fine Arts degree in Bogota, and while working as an art-teacher and museum photographer, Andrea created jewelry under the Arte-Facto tag out of locally produced seeds, beads, stones and fibers. Since coming to Toronto in 2007, Andrea has been inspired by the city’s urban environmental movement, ethnic diversity and vibrant arts scene. These elements are reflected in her latest work which incorporates up-cycled cans, buttons and fabrics. |
